Abstract: The educational environment generates spaces for analysis in the interpersonal relationship of the teaching-learning process, linked to different dimensions of being; the biological, the functional through the neurosciences, the emotional and the relationship with the environment, the presence of stressors in the dynamics of relationships can become uncomfortable. The objective of this research is related to proposing music therapy as a coping strategy in situations of academic stress in the medical career, enabling its comprehensive analysis. The applied methodology is based on the socio-critical paradigm with a mixed approach, with prospective longitudinal temporality, an intervention model with participatory action research (IAP) was assumed. The proposal is related to the incorporation of the knowledge of the music therapist in a university educational environment as a palliative indirect coping strategy through music as therapy to help improve biological, mental, cognitive health and implicitly in the aspect educational because of the reactions it produces at the neuronal level that contribute to the cognitive process. The results found regarding music therapy could be observed that it generates states of mind that, according to its influence through emotions and neurotransmitters, make possible a specific positive attitude for cognition. Addressing academic stress with a focus on complex thinking, in a transdisciplinary way with education, health, art and neurosciences, enables a hologrammatic view of the phenomenon to be studied.
