Abstract: Music education in early childhood education has been recognized as a fundamental tool for children's cognitive and emotional development. This qualitative and exploratory study seeks to analyze how music contributes to the improvement of cognitive skills, such as memory, language and concentration, and how it also favors emotional expression, emotional regulation and the development of empathy. The research was conducted through a bibliographic review and analysis of pedagogical practices of music education applied in early childhood education contexts. It was found that music education, when integrated into the school curriculum, contributes significantly to the child's integral development, promoting more meaningful and inclusive learning. According to Vygotsky (1998), social interaction plays a fundamental role in the learning process, and music, as a collective practice, stimulates cooperation and emotional development in children. It is concluded that music education should be considered an essential practice in early childhood education institutions, with proven benefits for the cognitive and emotional development of students.
