Abstract: Music, one of the most important means of human expression, is essential for integral human development from the perspective of Professional and Technological Education. This article, an excerpt from the ongoing research entitled Frevo and its listening by students of the Pernambuco Conservatory of Music: a discursive approach, uses bibliographic research and content analysis. It aims to investigate how educational products developed within the scope of ProfEPT raise issues related to musical appreciation based on the analysis of four categories: the theoretical references brought by the authors when developing musical appreciation activities; the typologies of educational products; the target audience; and applicability. We found that musical appreciation is something rare to find in discussions involving the teaching and learning of Music within the scope of EPT. We noticed that authors who do not have musical training tend not to use theoretical references related to musical appreciation in their educational practices.
