MUSEU NACIONAL E COLÉGIO PEDRO II: O DIÁLOGO ENTRE CASAS IMPERIAIS DEDICADAS AO DESENVOLVIMENTO CIENTÍFICO
O presente estudo tem como objetivo apresentar as relações institucionais entre o Museu Nacional e o Colégio Pedro II desde o século XIX até os dias atuais. Trata-se de instituições criadas no século XIX, como marcos do projeto civilizatório do Império. Sob a proteção do Imperador d. Pedro II, as duas casas imperiais trazem em comum, entre outras características, a guarda, preservação e divulgação do conhecimento científico. O Museu Nacional, principal instituição científica do país dedicada às ciências naturais, comemorou 200 anos de existência em 2018, enquanto que o Colégio Pedro II comemorou 180 anos de sua criação em 2017. Ambos são instituições públicas federais, verdadeiros marcos da ciência, da educação e da cultura do Brasil desde o século XIX, que atravessaram o século XX e alcançaram o século XXI confirmando o seu caráter educacional e científico, contribuindo para a formação de gerações. Desde o Museu Imperial e Nacional, há registro de colaboração visando à formação científica através de doações de materiais pedagógicos destinados ao ensino prático no laboratório de história natural, bem como do envio regular da revista “Archivos do Museu Nacional” para o acervo da biblioteca do Externato do Colégio Pedro II. Essa relação é demarcada também pela passagem de bacharéis do Colégio Pedro II que fizeram parte do quadro funcional do Museu. Ofícios trocados entre seus respectivos diretores atestam que a cooperação entre as duas instituições prosseguiu no século XX. Em 1999, surgiu o primeiro programa de iniciação científica entre o Museu Nacional e o Colégio Pedro II denominado PIC Jr, destinado a alunos do ensino médio, que vigora até os dias atuais. Para este trabalho, foi utilizada como metodologia a análise de fontes manuscritas (ofícios, relatórios), bem como o arquivo que reúne a documentação do programa PIC Jr desde sua origem até o ano de 2013.

Abstract:
This study aims to present the institutional relations between the National Museum and Colégio Pedro II from the 19th century to the present day. These are institutions created in the 19th century, as landmarks of the Empire's civilizing project. Under the protection of the Emperor d. Pedro II, the two imperial houses have in common, among other characteristics, the guarding, preservation and dissemination of scientific knowledge. The National Museum, the country's main scientific institution dedicated to natural sciences, celebrated 200 years of existence in 2018, while Colégio Pedro II celebrated 180 years of its creation in 2017. Both are federal public institutions, true landmarks of science, education and culture of Brazil since the 19th century, which crossed the 20th century and reached the 21st century confirming its educational and scientific character, contributing to the formation of generations. From the Imperial and National Museum, there is a record of collaboration aimed at scientific training through donations of pedagogical materials for practical teaching in the natural history laboratory, as well as the regular submission of the magazine “Archivos do Museu Nacional” to the collection of the library of Colégio Pedro II. This relationship is also marked by the passage of graduates from Colégio Pedro II who were part of the Museum's staff. Letters exchanged between their respective directors attest that the cooperation between the two institutions continued in the 20th century. In 1999, appeared the first scientific initiation program between the National Museum and Colégio Pedro II, called PIC Jr, aimed at high school students, which is still in force today. For this work, it was used as methodology the analysis of handwritten sources (letters, reports), as well as the file that gathers the PIC Jr program documentation from its origin until the year 2013. -
