MULHERES NEGRAS INTELECTUAIS E SEUS CABELOS
O artigo apresenta resumidamente biografias de três mulheres negras que foram referências importantes na história do Brasil e discute a questão étnico-racial pelo viés da estética do cabelo, evidenciando como intelectuais negras lidam com o processo de transição capilar. Ao analisar as respostas, considera que o cabelo crespo, para estas mulheres, significa empoderamento, subversão e enfrentamento.

Abstract:
The article briefly presents biographies of three Black women that were relevant references in Brazil’s history. It discusses the ethnical-racial issue based on hair aesthetic, showing how Black intellectuals deal with hair transition processes. After analyzing the participants’ answers, it considers that, for these women, curly hair means empowerment, subversion, and confrontation.
