Abstract: In postmodern society, characterized by technology, productivity, and fragmentation, women with disabilities face unique challenges arising from the intersection of gender and disability. Their lives are often traversed by physical, social, and attitudinal barriers that hinder their existential experiences, the guarantee of their rights as beings, and thus full participation in society. This intersection also interacts with other mechanisms of oppression such as racism and ageism, making the confrontation of these intersectional challenges even more significant. Thus, the recognition and expansion of their "place of speech" are crucial elements for the empowerment and emancipation of women with disabilities by recognizing and valuing the prominence of their voices. In the preparation of this article, bibliographic research was conducted on scientific articles related to the topic, using authors such as Bauman (2011), Diniz (2007, 2022), Foucault (1996), Han (2022), Ribeiro (2017), Vattimo (1992), among others. The main aim of this work is to promote a counter-hegemonic movement of reflection and dialogue about the "place of speech," and consequently, the prominence of women with disabilities in contemporary society. Therefore, public policies, academic, and social actions are indispensable in combating the silencing and invisibility of these lives, enabling a genuine claim to humanity.
