MOVIMENTOS SOCIAIS E CLASSES SOCIAIS NA COSTURA
No início dos anos 2000, imigrantes sul-americanos ligados ao ramo da costura da Região Metropolitana de São Paulo e da Grande Buenos Aires formaram agrupamentos e teceram complexas redes sociais com ONGs de direitos humanos, de direitos dos imigrantes e de promoção da cultura imigrante, centrais sindicais, agentes da mídia e políticos, empresas recuperadas por trabalhadores, cooperativas de catadores, órgãos dos poderes públicos local, regional e nacional, coletivos universitários e a outras organizações ligadas à costura. Nessa medida, nossa pesquisa de campo realizado no Brasil e na Argentina que se estendeu entre 2011 e 2019 identificou a emergência de dois complexos movimentos sociais de baixo – um com a participação de donos de micro confecção, intitulado por nós de Movimento Pró-Imigrante (MPI) e o outro, com a presença de costureiros, de Movimento Pró-Trabalho-Digno (MPTD) – apresentando demandas, ideologias e repertórios de ação política adversas. Esses pontos foram detalhadamente trabalhados em nossa tese de doutorado, defendida no final de 2019. Neste artigo, especificamente, focaremos nas questões de classe que circunscrevem esses dois movimentos e em algumas das conquistas obtidas pelo MPI e pelo MPTD.

Abstract:
In the beginning of 2000s, South American immigrants linked to the garment industry in the Metropolitan Region of São Paulo and Greater Buenos Aires formed groups and woven complex social networks with NGOs of human rights, immigrant rights and promotion of immigrant culture, union centers, media agents and politicians, companies recovered by workers, waste pickers' cooperatives, local, regional and national government agencies, university collectives and other organizations related to sewing. In this sense, our field research carried out in Brazil and Argentina that spanned between 2011 and 2019 and it identified the emergence of two complex social movements from below – one with the participation of micro-confection owners, entitled by us Pro Immigrant Movement (MPI) and the other, with the presence of seamstresses, from the Pro Worthy Work Movement (MPTD) – presenting adverse demands, ideologies and repertoires of political action. These points were worked out in detail in our doctoral thesis, defended at the end of 2019. In this article, specifically, we will focus on the class issues that circumscribe these two movements and on some of the achievements obtained by MPI and MPTD.
