MOTORISTAS URBANOS EM TEMPOS DE COVID-19: representações sobre cotidiano, medo e trabalho em Imperatriz, Maranhão, Brasil
Partindo do pressuposto de que os motoristas urbanos, especialmente taxistas, mototaxistas e motoristas de aplicativos, retiram os recursos de sua subsistência do ofício de transportar pessoas, o presente artigo busca compreender sociologicamente as representações e narrativas desses sujeitos acerca das questões econômicas, sociais e culturais relacionadas ao exercício de suas atividades durante o período de isolamento social estimulado pelo combate à Pandemia do Covid-19. Através da aplicação de questionários com esses interlocutores no ano de 2020, exploramos ao longo do texto suas impressões acerca do cotidiano, dos medos sociais e das relações de trabalho durante o período da “quarentena”. Nessa perspectiva, o que se pretende é analisar de maneira incipiente as transformações potencializadas pela crise sanitária em nossos arranjos sociais e de maneira específica as mudanças que ganharam forma no cotidiano e práticas de trabalho dos motoristas urbanos de Imperatriz, Maranhão, Brasil.

Abstract:
Assuming that urban drivers, especially taxi drivers, motorcycle taxi drivers and app drivers, derive their livelihood resources from the job of transporting people, this article seeks to sociologically understand the representations and narratives of these subjects about economic, social and cultural issues related to the exercise of their activities during the period of social isolation stimulated by the fight against the Covid-19. Through the application of questionnaires with these interlocutors in the year 2020, we explore throughout the text their impressions about everyday life, social fears and work relationships during the period of “quarantine”. In this perspective, the aim is to analyze in an incipient way the transformations potentiated by the health crisis in our social arrangements and specifically the changes that took shape in the daily life and work practices of urban drivers in Imperatriz, Maranhão, Brazil.
