MOTIVOS RELACIONADOS A NÃO VACINAÇÃO CONTRA O PAPILOMAVÍRUS EM ADOLESCENTES
Compreender as razões pelas quais os jovens em idade escolar não foram imunizados contra o Papilomavírus Humano (HPV) é fundamental para estabelecer estratégias de saúde que melhorem os índices de imunização contra o HPV na população adolescente. A Estratégia Global para Acelerar a Eliminação do Câncer de Colo de Útero, divulgada pela Organização Mundial da Saúde em 2020, enfatiza a relevância da vacinação contra o HPV antes do início da vida sexual como um dos principais pilares para a prevenção do câncer de colo de útero no mundo. Contudo, desde a inclusão da vacina contra o HPV no calendário vacinal do adolescente pelo Programa Nacional de Imunizações (PNI), o objetivo de imunizar 80% da população alvo da vacina nunca foi alcançado. Além do Brasil, outros países que disponibilizam a vacinação contra o HPV para o público adolescente também enfrentam desafios para alcançar as metas de cobertura vacinal. Este capítulo revisou a literatura mundial a fim de elencar os motivos pelos quais os adolescentes não estão aderindo à vacinação contra o HPV.

Abstract:
Understanding the reasons why young people of school age were not immunized against the Human Papillomavirus (HPV) is essential to establish health plans and actions that improve the indications of immunization against HPV in the group of adolescents. The Global Strategy to Accelerate the Elimination of Cervical Cancer, released by the World Health Organization in 2020, emphasizes the adoption of adherence to the HPV vaccination campaign, before the onset of sexual life, as one of the main infections to avoid the occurrence of new occurrences of cancer in the world. However, since the inclusion of the HPV vaccine in the adolescent vaccination schedule by the National Immunization Program (PNI), no Brazilian state has reached the goal of 80% immunization of the target group. In addition to Brazil, other countries that offer vaccination against HPV also face challenges in achieving vaccination coverage goals. This chapter reviewed the world literature in order to list the reasons why young people are not immunized against HPV. Individual and contextual factors were pointed out by studies that investigated the reasons why young people did not start vaccinating against HPV in Brazil and worldwide.
