Abstract: In the late 1980s, researcher Wilhelm Wundt (1900) observed that cognitive psychology is interconnected with linguistics and vice versa. This theoretical stance led, in practice, to a closer relationship between linguists and psychologists. A milestone of this convergence occurred in 1953, during a summer seminar at Indiana University, resulting in the emergence of psycholinguistics. Among the theories and methods aimed at understanding human language, the Minimalist Program proposed by Noam Chomsky stands out, from which Experimental Psycholinguistics developed. This field seeks to investigate how the processes of language production and comprehension occur in humans. Experimental Psycholinguistics has expanded into several areas of linguistics, including morphology. In this ongoing effort to understand linguistic processing, Experimental Morphology emerged. Through offline and online testing, it has been applied by morphologists such as Alina Villalva and Rafael Minussi (2020) in their research. These studies aim to verify and contribute to the advancement of the objectives proposed by Experimental Psycholinguistics.
