Abstract: This study addresses the morbidity and mortality associated with the management of exacerbations in Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD). Exacerbations are acute events that accelerate the progression of COPD, leading to increased hospitalizations and early death. Effective management of these exacerbations, which involves appropriate pharmacological treatment, constant monitoring, and non-pharmacological interventions such as pulmonary rehabilitation, is essential for reducing the negative impacts of the disease. Additionally, early identification and prevention of exacerbations are crucial for improving patients' quality of life and reducing treatment costs. The research also emphasizes the importance of following current guidelines and promoting a multidisciplinary approach to treatment. The combination of personalized therapies with a preventive focus provides the best prognosis for COPD patients.
