MONITORAMENTO DO DESENVOLVIMENTO DE PLÂNTULAS DE RHIZOPHORA MANGLE L. EM VIVEIRO DE CRIAÇÃO NA LAGOA RODRIGO DE FREITAS, RIO DE JANEIRO – RJ.
Ações de restauração em manguezais tem sido cada vez mais comuns, no entanto, dados sobre a sobrevivência e o crescimento de espécies de mangue em viveiros são ainda escassos. O objetivo deste estudo é fazer a avaliação destes parâmetros em plântulas de Rhizophora mangle L. em viveiro. Para isso, 219 propágulos, coletados no in natura, foram divididos em 6 lotes, plantados e monitorados em um período de 6 meses. Foram registrados o percentual de sobrevivência e o comprimento inicial de cada propágulo. O tempo, em dias, da abertura de cada par de folhas foi anotado. Os comprimentos foram medidos no período de 3 e 6 meses após o plantio. Estes parâmetros foram comparados entre os lotes e correlacionados. O percentual de sobrevivência foi de 85%, variando de 10 a 18% entre os lotes. Os lotes com propágulos maiores apresentaram maior incremento e o tamanho inicial e final estão correlacionados. O incremento total variou de 20 cm a 26 cm. Foi encontrada em fraca correlação entre o crescimento e a abertura de pares de folhas. Pode-se dizer, com base nos resultados encontrados, que as plântulas entre 141 a 180 dias com um tamanho médio de 37±5.2cm já estão viáveis para plantio.

Abstract:
Restoration actions in mangroves have been increasingly common, however, data on the survival and growth of mangrove species in nurseries are still scarce. The aim of this study is to assess these parameters in Rhizophora mangle L. seedlings in nurseries settlements. For this, 219 propagules, collected in nature, were divided into 6 groups, planted and monitored over a six months period. The percentage of survival and the initial length of each seedling was recorded. The time, in days, of each pair of leaves opening was measured. The lengths were measured within 3 and 6 months after planting. These parameters were compared between the groups and correlated. The proportion of mortality was 85%, varying from 10 to 18% among groups. Groups with larger seedlings had higher increment and the initial and final lenght are correlated. The total increase ranged from 20cm to 26cm. A poor correlation was found between the growth and the leaves opening. It can be said, based on the results, that the seedlings between 141-180 days with an average size of 37 ± 5.2cm are already viable for planting. -
