Abstract: This article examines the relationship between insulin resistance, weight loss, and lifestyle improvement in the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Based on a review of recent scientific evidence, it is concluded that sustained behavioral changes—such as adherence to the Mediterranean diet and regular physical activity—are effective in reversing insulin resistance. Furthermore, even moderate weight loss yields significant metabolic benefits. The analyzed interventions showed improvements not only in glycemic control but also in inflammatory, hormonal, and cardiovascular parameters. The flexibility of these approaches, whether digital or face-to-face, broadens their practical applicability. This study reinforces the importance of a multidisciplinary and non-pharmacological strategy in managing type 2 diabetes, with a strong emphasis on habit change and patient education.
