Abstract: The presence of emerging contaminants in water intended for treatment and consumption is quite common in Brazil. As far as pesticides are concerned, this scenario may worsen due to the recent authorization of the entry and use of pesticides in the Brazilian market. Among the commonly used water treatment technologies is the adsorption process. Zeolites stand out due to their properties, which are closely related to the chemical and structural composition of the material. This study aimed to modify natural zeolites (ZN) in order to increase their adsorption capacity and thus their industrial interest. The proposed modification with potassium permanganate and manganese oxide increased the material's adsorption capacity (0.20 mg.L -1 ), the adsorption kinetics reached equilibrium after 6 h of testing, the natural pH of the solution showed the best results (pH 7), and temperature had no influence on the adsorption capacity.
