• Abstract: The article in question describes research that focuses on modern architecture with an emphasis on the health area, specifically the Faculty of Dentistry at UFRGS (1960), a building that is under municipal inventory. The main objective of this study is the documentation and detailed analysis of this landmark of modern architecture in Porto Alegre. This analysis is conducted through technical drawings and reference images, allowing the identification of significant elements and their direct connection with modern principles. Furthermore, the research addresses the interaction of the building with its surroundings, including other relevant structures, and explores the architect's vision regarding the future evolution of construction, adapting to constantly changing demands. The bibliographic review contextualizes the historical period and modern ideas that supported the original project. The results obtained in the analysis demonstrate the lasting functionality of modern architecture and its alignment with the principles of bioclimatic architecture. In summary, this study investigates the interaction between hospital architecture and modernity in a historic building dating from the 1950s in Porto Alegre. This research offers a valuable understanding of the historical evolution of the topic and its continued relevance today.
