Abstract: The rapid increase in surface impermeability and extreme rainfall events induced by climate change make the expansion and modernization of the existing drainage system a challenge, as these methods do not meet the aspirations of sustainable urban development. To efficiently manage urban stormwater and make urbanization safer and more sustainable, flood control is essential. However, it is necessary to understand the local hydrological cycle properties and assess the impact of applying drainage techniques. In light of this, this study analyzed the hydrological behavior of the PE11 sub-basin and the consequent impact of implementing micro-reservoirs to treat the roof area, which represents 23.45% of the impermeable area and 34.28% of the total sub-basin area. For simulations with return periods of 5 years and 10 years, the results showed reductions in peak flow of up to 16.43% and 14.59%, respectively. Meanwhile, the runoff volume at the sub-basin outlet was reduced by up to 2.67% and 2.31%, respectively.
