MODELAGEM E ALIMENTAÇÃO SAUDÁVEL: POSSIBILIDADES PARA O ENSINO DA MATEMÁTICA
O ensino da matemática é desafiador tanto para um professor da Educação Básica, quanto do Ensino Superior. A possibilidade de trabalhar o conteúdo matemático relacionado ao cotidiano do aluno pode ser um grande facilitador do processo ensino-aprendizagem, mas exige que o professor faça uso de técnicas/ferramentas de ensino para tornar o processo dinâmico e natural. Nessa perspectiva, o presente trabalho apresenta a Modelagem Matemática como uma ferramenta para o ensino de matemática, por meio de duas atividades voltadas para questões de alimentação. Uma atividade aplicada a alunos do 6º ano do Ensino Fundamental, explorando os conceitos de operações com valores em unidades de medidas distintas, para números decimais. E a segunda atividade aplicada a alunos do curso de Graduação em Matemática, explorando conceitos de sistemas lineares com inequações. Verificou-se, diretamente da aplicação das atividades, que a Modelagem Matemática se diferencia da maioria das ferramentas de ensino por estimular o instinto questionador no aluno, permitindo que o mesmo compreenda como a matemática pode estar presente no dia a dia.

Abstract:
Mathematics teaching is challenging for both a basic education teacher and a Higher Education teacher. The possibility of working with mathematical content related to the student's daily life can be a great facilitator of the teaching-learning process, but it requires the teacher to use teaching techniques / tools to make the dynamic and natural process. From this perspective, the present work presents Mathematical Modeling as a tool for mathematics teaching through two examples of approaches to food issues. The first activity was performed with students of the Grade 6 in Basic School, exploring the concepts of operations with values in a different unit of measurement and numbers in the decimal form. The second activity was performed with undergraduate students in Mathematics, exploring concepts of linear systems with inequalities. It was found, directly from the application of the activities, that Mathematical Modeling differs from most part of teaching tools by stimulating the questioning instinct in the student, allowing him to understand how mathematics can be present in daily life.
