Abstract: This project hydrologically and hydraulically models a section of the Mamón de Leche stream (AML), located in southern Valledupar, to analyze flood risk under different runoff scenarios. The general and urban watershed was delineated, morphometric parameters were characterized, and historical precipitation records (1993–2023) were analyzed. Based on these data, design hyetographs were generated using the alternate block method, and peak discharges were calculated for various return periods with the SCS loss and runoff model in HEC-HMS. Hydraulic scenarios were simulated in HEC-RAS for a 100-year return period under AMC II and III conditions. Using the FEMA methodology recommended by IDEAM, a flood hazard map was developed in ArcGIS Pro. The results identified the final reach of the AML—particularly the Fonvisocial sector and El Porvenir urbanization—as the most critical areas, where overflow events affect vulnerable communities and urban facilities, indicating a high flood risk.
