Com a avanço da tecnologia, têm-se

observado novas formas de se pensar o ensinar

e o aprender. As metodologias ativas de ensino

têm ganhado espaço na educação, uma vez que

elas visam a mudança do papel do aluno em seu

processo de ensino aprendizagem. Além disso,

as tecnologias de informação e comunicação

(TIC) são ferramentas importantes que

podem auxiliar neste processo. Diante disso,

a proposta do capítulo é discutir os conceitos

de ensino tradicional (centrado no professor)

e ensino centrado no aluno. Além disso, será

discutido o conceito de metodologias ativas,

com exemplos de metodologias utilizadas

atualmente no ensino superior, assim como o

papel das TICs neste processo. Nota-se que

reflexões sobre a forma de ensinar são de

extrema importância, uma vez que a formação

dos alunos está diretamente relacionada a sua

atuação profissional futura.

Abstract:
With the advance of technology,

we have been noticing new ways of thinking

about teaching and learning. Active learning

is gaining space in education since it seeks to

change the passive learning role of students

in their learning process. Also, information and

communication technologies (ICT) are essential

tools that can help in this process. Therefore,

the purpose of the chapter is to discuss the

concepts of traditional (teacher-centered) versus

student-centered teaching. In addition, it will be

discussed the definition of active learning, with

examples of current methodologies that are in

use on Higher Education, as well as the role of

ICT in this process. Overall, reflections about

teaching are critical, since student education

is directly related to their performance in their

future profession.
