Abstract: The preparation and review of quotes in engineering projects requires attention through a methodology that guarantees a detailed review of the requirements, specifications and characteristics demanded by clients, which must be well documented; This methodology indicates the phases to follow in preparing a quote, in order to avoid possible errors and oversights that may affect the quality of the information that the quoting company presents to its clients, or that may give rise to excessive costs for the clients. customers or losses for the company. The objective is to present a methodology that allows the preparation, review, monitoring and control of quotes in engineering projects, to guarantee that they comply with the company's rates and standards, which must be valid for all services. provided by the company, which must also have sufficient human resources and capacity to handle the project and where the costs related to equipment, contracted services, among others, must be included. For this, a methodology is considered that includes: 1) forms to generate quotes, 2) preliminary information, 3) authorization for the preparation of quotes, 4) information collection, 5) planning, 6) programming or schedule, 7) budget, 8) structure of the proposal, 9) internal review, 10) review with the client, 11) editing and delivery, 12) follow-up. As a result of preparing the quote, the total amount of the quote is obtained; with a revised proposal, where the client is guaranteed: 1) all the requirements, specifications and characteristics of the project, which have also been defined and documented, 2) that there is the capacity to meet the requirements, 3) that the nature of the problem, 4) that the legal and regulatory obligations related to the service have been reviewed, 5) that the type of standards and procedures to be met have been evaluated, 6) that there are sufficient plans and information. The methodology also allows evaluating whether the presentation of a quote proposal is viable or not for the company. This viability was determined by the validation of the client's request, in comparison with the company's objectives, from the economic point of view, the organizational structure and the technical.
