Abstract: The world population reached 8 billion people according to the World Population Prospects report (UN/UNFPA-2023). In Mexico, population growth is no exception, in 1990 there were 81.2 million people, by 2020 there were 126 million people. From 2010 to 2020, the population increased by 14 million inhabitants (INEGI, 2020). The lack of a uniform distribution of the growing population density has generated an increase in the demand for urbanized territory with basic public services. The methodology for an urban location has the following objectives: to establish the primary variables for the definition of the location of a new city; evaluate an already defined site for the location of a new city; evaluate the site of an existing city; supervise the development stages of an existing city or plan the siting stages of a city in the future, among others. The methodology of this research was developed through the study, analysis and potentialization of various methodological processes allowing the integration of an environmental process of an urban location. As a result, each of the stages will be described progressively: Stage 1. Identification of the land use vocation. Stage 2. Identification of suitable areas for the installation of urban equipment and public spaces. Stage 3. Location of the infrastructure at the level of infrastructure and concentration points. Stage 4. Definition of the urban accessibility system.
