Abstract: AWP (Advanced Work Packaging) is a project management methodology that focus on the physical division of the construction and planning for the constructive sequence by packages of execution, engineering and supply. This methodology was created in 2009 and focus on predictability and productivity. This article review the literature on the theme since its creation and describe how AWP can integrate and potentialize the use of BIM 4D in construction planning and execution. The methodology adopted was structured literature review. By the end of the collection of information, it was made an analysis of the methodology’s application integrating it to BIM, more specifically the use in time management (4D). As a result. it’s been perceived that the scenario of AWP methodology still lacks information that shows, quantitatively, the benefits of the methodology’s application. This article contributes to the organization of information about AWP and to the discussion of its benefits as a project management methodology, especially with BIM integration
