Mereologia, A Composisão do Mundo - Reflexões Filosóficas sobre as Partes que Compõem os Objetos
Considerando que “Mereologia” é o estudo filosófico das relações lógicas entre o todo e as partes, este livro se propõe a apresentar uma classificação que existe dentro da Filosofia de Tomás de Aquino. Neste livro, o leitor terá a oportunidade de conhecer o tipo integral de todo e partes, cuja unidade está baseada na composição das coisas. Além disso, será adicionado ainda um tratamento dos tipos envolvendo os graus de ordem dentro desse tipo integral.
Por fim, o leitor verá como pode ser aplicado todo esse conhecimento em duas situações: numa delas, teremos uma breve descrição mereológica da mistura dos quatro elementos: terra, água, fogo e ar, que é um assunto de grande curiosidade entre os estudiosos da Física e Química. Em outra situação, encerraremos mostrando uma solução possível para o Paradoxo do Navio de Teseu, que é o paradoxo mais antigo da área da Mereologia.

Abstract:
Considering that “Mereology” is the philosophical study of the logical relationships between the whole and the parts, this book proposes to present a classification that exists within the Philosophy of Thomas Aquinas. In this book, the reader will have the opportunity to know the integral type of whole and parts, whose unity is based on the composition of things. In addition, a treatment of types involving the degrees of order within this integral type will be added.
Finally, the reader will see how all this knowledge can be applied in two situations: in one of them, we will have a brief mereological description of the mixture of the four elements: earth, water, fire and air, which is a subject of great curiosity among scholars of Physics and chemistry. In another situation, we will end by showing a possible solution to the Paradox of the Ship of Theseus, which is the oldest paradox in the area of Mereology.
