Memorial Institucional: um sistema em definição
O estudo apresenta reflexões sobre a necessidade de existir critérios teóricos e metodológicos para a implementação de memorial a partir de instituição híbrida, ou seja, composta de documentação de arquivo, biblioteca e museu, sem, no entanto, ser compreendida em um mesmo plano de conhecimento e técnica. Durante a Antiguidade, o arquivo, a biblioteca e o museu podiam ser uma única instituição, a exemplo do Mouseion e da Biblioteca de Alexandria, nos quais, em um mesmo espaço, era possível a guarda de documentos, livros e obras de arte, em um contexto em que não havia divisão de áreas do conhecimento. Porém, na Idade Contemporânea, surge a demanda por mão de obra especializada e, assim, cada área passa a buscar espaço distinto e denominação correspondente à sua própria teoria e prática. Nesse contexto, com o avanço das áreas da ciência da informação e da tecnologia da informação e comunicação, as instituições passam a reunir documentação de variada natureza para compor acervos com maior abrangência. Daí emerge a necessidade de estudos aprofundados sobre a relação entre memória, documento e informação. No bojo dessas transformações, surge o centro de documentação, entre outras instituições, a exemplo do centro cultural, do centro de memória e do memorial, muitas vezes compreendidos sem distinção entre si. Tal fato leva a discussões complexas e bastante controversas, particularmente diante da amplitude conceitual do que se entende por memorial, por isso, a presente pesquisa, através da revisão de literatura, propõe-se a analisar instituições que possuem o formato de memorial. Este estudo considera a implementação do memorial sob a perspectiva da teoria sistêmica segundo Luhmann, uma vez que oferece a possibilidade de compreender o memorial como um sistema orgânico que inclui em seu ambiente o arquivo, a biblioteca e o museu como subsistemas integrados e compartilhados em uma mesma rede.

Abstract:
The essay reflects on the necessity for existing theoretical and methodological criteria for the implementation of a memorial from a hybrid institution, namely composed of archive, library and museum documentation, nevertheless without being understood in the same knowledge and technique fields. During ancient times, the archive, library and museum could exist as a single institution, such as the Mouseion and the Library of Alexandria, where it was possible to maintain in the same space, books and artworks, in a context in which knowledge areas were not separated. However, in the modern age, a demand for skilled labor arises and, thus, each area commence to pursue a different space and name corresponding to its inherent theory and practice. In this context, as advances in the areas of information science and information and communication technology occur, institutions began to gather documents of a variety assortment to compose collections with greater scope. Hence, arose the necessity for an in-depth studies on the relationship between memory, document and information. In the midst of these transformations, the documentation center emerges, among other institutions, such as the cultural center, the memory center and the memorial, often comprehended without distinction between them. Such fact leads to complex and quite controversial discussions, particularly given the conceptual scope of what is meant by memorial; therefore, this research proposes to evaluate institutions under the memorial format, through a literature review. This essay considers a memorial implementation from the perspective of the systemic theory according to Luhmann, as it provides the possibility of comprehend the memorial as an organic system which includes in its environment the archive, the library and the museum as integrated and shared subsystems in a same network.
