Abstract: Institutional memory is essential to understanding the identity and trajectory of educational institutions, going beyond simple document preservation to keep experiences, practices and knowledge alive. This memory acts as a link between past, present and future, strengthening identity and inspiring new paths. In the current context, digitalization has expanded access to and preservation of these collections, highlighting Digital Repositories (RDs) as strategic tools for the organization, security and democratization of knowledge. The HeMEPT Digital Repository, at IFSUL Campus Pelotas, is a pioneering initiative that integrates physical and digital documents, promoting collective memory, institutional identity and dialogue between generations. Thus, digital repositories are essential instruments for preserving, expanding and redefining institutional memory in EPT.
