Abstract: In Drip Irrigation and Fertigation or Microsprinkler, obstructions in pipes and emitters are frequent and are mainly caused by deposits of solid material suspended in the irrigation water, in addition to the presence of chemical elements such as excess iron and manganese ions and organic material. This work aimed to perform a bibliographic review of theses, dissertations, textbooks, class notes, technical articles, websites and other sources of information in order to obtain concepts, details, characteristics of the forms of obstructions and control of each of these agents that cause obstructions in pipes and emitters of irrigation systems. In addition, it presents examples of calculations and dosage of products and recommended practices for the control of physical, chemical and/or biological agents that cause these obstructions; as well as providing Technical Information on Preventive Measures, Low Risk Levels, Medium Risks and High Risks and Risks that may cause Hazards in irrigation water. In addition, providing Operational Recommendations for Irrigation/Fertigation Systems aiming at Better Operationality and Efficiency of Drip or Micro-sprinkler Irrigation Systems. As a Conclusion, it is recommended that before the Acquisition and Installation of Irrigation Systems in the field, Special Attention be paid to the need to Analyze the Quality of the Water to be used in Irrigation; as well as knowing and adopting the Water Collection Procedures for Analysis and Interpretation of the appropriate Levels and risks of the Main Agents that may influence obstructions in the pipes and emitters of Irrigation Systems in order to Prevent damage and premature abandonment of Irrigation or Fertigation Projects.
