MEDICINA TRANSFUSIONAL NA ROTINA VETERINÁRIA: REVISÃO DE LITERATURA
A transfusão sanguínea em animais vem ganhando um grande espaço na medicina veterinária, funcionando como uma opção terapêutica para tentativas de estabilização de pacientes. O acesso a derivados sanguíneos e a viabilidade de tipificação sanguínea contribuiu bastante para esse crescimento, uma vez que isso garante cuidados em uma variedade de patologias. O sangue tem a função de assegurar o meio em que vivem as células, sendo indispensável, garantindo o desenvolvimento das funções vitais do organismo e sua homeostasia. É constituído por três tipos celulares: hemácias, leucócitos e plaquetas. Para a realização da hemoterapia, inúmeras são as indicações como: insuficiência na hemostasia, incapacidade de transporte de O2, hipovolemia não responsiva ao tratamento convencional, hipoproteinemia e transferência de imunidade passiva. A importância do teste de compatibilidade para o procedimento tem por objetivo prevenir a transfusão de hemácias incompatíveis e, assim, evitar reações transfusionais que podem levar o paciente à óbito. Um dos métodos mais importantes para evitar essa reação é minimizar a transfusão de produtos desnecessários ao paciente, o clínico deve escolher cuidadosamente o hemocomponente a ser transfundido. A presente revisão teve como objetivo descrever a importância da medicina transfusional na veterinária para difundir o conhecimento aos seus profissionais garantindo, assim, um melhor tratamento e uma maior qualidade de vida aos pacientes. Ao longo da revisão serão apresentados tópicos relevantes como aspectos gerais da hematologia veterinária, grupos sanguíneos, indicação da transfusão, métodos de colheita de sangue, teste de compatibilidade sanguínea, reações transfusionais e cálculo do volume sanguíneo.

Abstract:
Blood transfusion in animals has been gaining a great place in veterinary medicine, working as a therapeutic option for attempts to stabilize patients. The access to blood derivatives and the viability of blood typing contributed a lot to this growth, since this guarantees care in a variety of pathologies. Blood has the function of ensuring the environment in which cells live, being indispensable, guaranteeing the development of the organism's vital functions and its homeostasis. It consists of three cell types: red blood cells, leukocytes and platelets. For hemotherapy, there are countless indications such as: insufficiency in hemostasis, inability to transport O2, hypovolemia unresponsive to conventional treatment, hypoproteinemia and passive immunity transfer. The importance of the compatibility test for the procedure aims to prevent the transfusion of incompatible red blood cells and, thus, to avoid transfusion reactions that can lead the patient to death. One of the most important methods to avoid this reaction is to minimize the transfusion of unnecessary products to the patient, the clinician must carefully choose the blood component to be transfused. The present review aimed to describe the importance of transfusion medicine in veterinary medicine to spread the knowledge to its professionals, thus guaranteeing a better treatment and a higher quality of life for patients. Throughout the review, relevant topics such as general aspects of veterinary hematology, blood groups, transfusion indication, blood collection methods, blood compatibility test, transfusion reactions and blood volume calculation will be presented.
