MEDICINA DA CONSERVAÇÃO NA ESCOLA: ACESSIBILIDADE PARA A EDUCAÇÃO AMBIENTAL DE JOVENS E CRIANÇAS
A extensão universitária caracteriza-se como a formação de uma relação de reciprocidade da universidade com seu corpo social, estimulando a construção de conhecimentos que oferecem subsídios. Diante disto, este trabalho objetiva, por meio de um relato de experiências, explicitar ações do projeto “Medicina da Conservação na Escola”. Este projeto levou os conhecimentos do Serviço de Atendimento a Animais Selvagens (SAAS) e do Laboratório de Anatomia Veterinária (Lanavet) da Universidade Estadual do Centro-Oeste (Unicentro) à comunidade de estudantes do ensino básico e médio da região de Guarapuava-PR. A justificativa deste projeto se dá uma vez que a práxis veterinária em Medicina de Animais Silvestres se amplia para a visão das relações entre os seres vivos, podendo contribuir com a sua conservação por meio da educação ambiental.

Abstract:
The University extension is characterized as the formation of a reciprocal relationship between the university and its social body, stimulating the construction of knowledge that offers subsidies. In view of this, this work aims, through a report of experiences, to explain actions of the project “Medicine Conservation at School”. This project brought the knowledge of the Service of Assistance to Wild Animals (SAAS) and the Laboratory of Veterinary Anatomy (Lanavet) of the State University of the Midwest (Unicentro) to the community of students of basic and high school in the region of Guarapuava-PR. The justification of this project is given that the veterinary praxis in Wild Animal Medicine expands to the view of the relationships between how living beings can contribute to its conservation through environmental education.
