MEDICAMENTOS DE RISCO NA GERIATRIA: ATUALIZAÇÃO DOS CRITÉRIOS DE BEERS
Resumo:O crescimento da população idosa no mundo traz consigo algumas preocupações, dentre elas a saúde e qualidade de vida. 18,1% dessa população pratica a polifarmácia, que pode causar perda da função renal e até a morte. Para tanto, o critério de Beers foi desenvolvido e é constantemente atualizado, sendo em 2019 a sua última atualização. Este trabalho se trata de uma revisão bibliográfica com caráter exploratório sob método qualitativo, a fim de apresentar o risco na administração de remédios na população idosa e apresentar a nova atualização do critério de Beers. A divulgação dessas tabelas se mostra como sendo um ponto importante de partida para a prescrição de remédios na população idosa, porém, não substitui a prescrição médica individual do médico. Este trabalho trouxe consigo as principais reações causadas pelas interações medicamentosas (aumento da toxicidade, inativação do fármaco ou produção de novos compostos) e, sob rol exemplificativo, algumas das 70 atualizações dos critérios de Beers de 2019 em comparação da divulgada em 2015.

Abstract:
Abstract: The growth of the elderly population in the world brings with it some concerns, including health and quality of life. 18.1% of this population practices polypharmacy, which can cause loss of kidney function and even death. To this end, the Beers criterion was developed and is constantly updated, being in 2019 its last update. This work is a bibliographical review with exploratory character under a qualitative method, in order to present the risk in the administration of medications in the elderly population and to present the new update of the Beers criterion. The disclosure of these tables is shown to be an important starting point for the prescription of medicines in the elderly population, however, it does not replace the individual medical prescription of the physician. This work brought with it the main reactions caused by drug interactions (increased toxicity, inactivation of the drug or production of new compounds) and, under an exemplary list, some of the 70 updates of the 2019 Beers criteria compared to the one published in 2015.
