Abstract: People's lives are increasingly connected to technology and information systems, which generates a growing need to manage the significant amount of surrounding data on a daily basis. In this context, Information Mediation (IM) becomes essential to assist in the integration of information, knowledge, skills and competencies throughout the process linked between professionals who work in care and partnership with people, and especially in the development of teaching work, presenting different facets in the teaching-learning relationship. In the sphere of education, MI can be understood as an important skill in all domains, from academic research to business management, aiming to assist decision-making and evaluating the consequences of choices. According to the authors consulted, MI is extremely important so that the data accessed is understood and interpreted appropriately by people. Mediation can also be carried out by different professionals, such as journalists, librarians, among others, and also has the role of deconstructing the stereotypes and prejudices present in society, providing broader and more critical access to knowledge. This article was developed through bibliographical research, in a compilation of information from articles and book chapters by authors who deal with the aforementioned topic. It is concluded, therefore, that the present work achieved its objective of providing information and generating reflections, based on interpretative syntheses of the arguments presented, based on concepts and techniques from various experts in the field of MI and education.
