MAUS-TRATOS OU NEGLIGÊNCIA ANIMAL? ATUAÇÃO DO MÉDICO VETERINÁRIO EM SITUAÇÃO REAL
O vínculo dos animais com os humanos vem se estreitando ao longo do tempo e se transformando em fortes laços emocionais, sendo comum atualmente a família multiespécie. Em virtude dessa aproximação, questões relacionadas à saúde e ao bem-estar dos animais tornaram-se pauta constante no cenário mundial e nesse sentindo, o debate sobre maus-tratos e negligência animal também vem crescendo. Assim, este trabalho objetivou discutir o limiar de responsabilidades do Médico Veterinário, frente a maus-tratos ou negligência contra animais, a partir de uma situação real vivenciada pelos discentes de veterinária em atendimento clínico. Os Médicos Veterinários desempenham um papel de transformador social, sendo imprescindível investir na formação acadêmica destes, incluindo temas como “Direito Animal” e “Teoria do Elo”, capacitando-os assim para reconhecimento e atuação nestas circunstâncias, visto que são recorrentes dentro da rotina dos profissionais que trabalham na área clínica, situações de violência, onde estejam ocorrendo maus tratos e/ou negligência no cuidado com os animais.

Abstract:
The tie between animals and humans has been narrowing over time and becoming a strong emotional bond. Thus, the so-called multispecies family is a common reality nowadays. Because of that relationship, issues redanding animals’ health and comfort has been an increased topic on the worldwide scenario. It becomes suitable in this scenario to debate limits about the threshold among Veterinarian Doctor’s rights and duties facing these situations. This work aims to discuss about limits of veterinarian doctors' responsabilities, facing animal abuse or neglicence, based on a real situation experienced by students of the veterinary course in clinical care. Veterinarian doctors play a role of social change and it is essential to invest in their academic training, including topics such as "Animal Law" and "Link Theory", thus enabling them to recognize and act in these circumstances, since they are recurrent within the routine of professionals working in the clinical area, situations of violence, where animal abuse and/or neglect in the care of animals are occurring.
