MATOCOMPETIÇÃO E A SUSTENTABILIDADE DA PRODUÇÃO FLORESTAL
A matocompetição pode afetar a
sustentabilidade da produção florestal, com
interações são positivas ou negativas em
função de uma série de fatores. Ao mesmo
tempo em que a matocompetição nas
plantações do eucalipto compete por luz, água
e nutrientes, esta vegetação pode proteger o
solo fisicamente e melhorar a fertilidade. Neste
capítulo abordaremos alguns aspectos que
caracterizam a matocompetição, detalhando
características e ervas daninhas, os impactos
na sustentabilidade da produção e o manejo
da matocompetição em áreas cultivadas com
eucalipto.

Abstract:
Weed competition can affect the
sustainability of forest production, with positive
or negative interactions depending on a number of factors. While weed competition in eucalyptus
plantations compete for light, water and nutrients,
they can protect the soil physically and improve
fertility. In this chapter we will discuss some
aspects that characterize the weed competition,
detailing characteristics of weed species, the
impacts on the sustainability of the production
and the management of weed competition in
areas cultivated with eucalyptus.
