MÁRIO MATOS: O MISSIVISTA MINEIRO SOB UMA OUTRA NOVA PERSPECTIVA
O presente trabalho pretende mostrar, como resultado da investigação executada ao longo da produção da dissertação de Mestrado intitulada Mário Matos e Gilberto de Alencar: memórias literárias e as missivas, de minha autoria, que explorar a correspondência alheia é, de fato, tarefa que levará o pesquisador a se deparar com o inesperado. Isto porque, ao aprofundar-se nas epístolas, ele localiza distintas nuances referentes aos signatários: desde relatos ligados a aspectos da vida pessoal e íntima dos carteadores até temáticas abordando discussões literárias e obras dos escritores apresentados. Pretende-se expor que, como não se trata de um tema com início e fim bem delimitados – justamente pelo caráter abrangente da pesquisa –, ainda há muito o que se descobrir, a ser acrescentado e a ser repensado. Apesar de terem sido preenchidas lacunas literárias ao transcorrer da produção da citada edição de fontes, ainda mais indagações referentes à vida dos epistológrafos surgiram, bem como sobre suas produções e sua forma de criação. Como os correspondentes são, neste caso, o principal objeto de pesquisa, cada nova descoberta os torna ainda mais interessantes e profundos, o que fomenta a continuidade do trabalho investigativo. Dito isso, mesmo após a defesa da referida dissertação, tal investigação continuou em andamento sob um viés específico – e por isso mesmo mais aprofundado – por parte da pesquisadora: o enfoque, agora, é dado ao signatário Mário Matos. Nesta busca mais diligente, estão sendo realizados levantamentos acerca dos mais variados pormenores relacionados à sua vida em diferentes esferas, principalmente no que tange às suas produções literárias divulgadas em meio jornalístico e à sua biografia. Esta pesquisa está sendo desenvolvida com consultas em fontes primárias preferencialmente, e fundamenta-se nos estudos de Antonio Olinto e de Alceu Amoroso Lima acerca do jornalismo como gênero literário e nas teorias de Halbwachs, Pollak e Huyssen sobre memória.

Abstract:
This work intends to show, as a result of the research carried out throughout the production of the Master's dissertation entitled Mário Matos and Gilberto de Alencar: literary memories and the missives, of my authorship, that exploring other people's correspondence is, in fact, a task that will take the researcher to encounter the unexpected. This is because, as he delves deeper into the epistles, he finds distinct nuances regarding the correspondents: from reports linked to aspects of the personal and intimate life of the correspondents to themes addressing literary discussions and works of the presented writers. It is intended to expose that, as it is not a topic with a well-defined beginning and end – precisely because of the comprehensive nature of the research –, there is still much to discover, to be added and to be rethought. Although literary gaps have been filled in the course of the production of the aforementioned font editing, even more inquiries regarding the life of correspondents have arisen, as well as about their productions and their way of creation. As correspondents are, in this case, the main object of research, each new discovery makes them even more interesting and profound, which encourages the continuity of investigative work. That said, even after defending the aforementioned dissertation, such investigation continued underway under a specific bias – and therefore even more in-depth – on the part of the researcher: the focus is now on author Mário Matos. In this more diligent search, data analyses are being carried out on the most varied details related to his life in different spheres, mainly with regard to his literary productions disseminated in the journals and his biography. This research is being developed with consultations in primary sources preferably, and is based on the studies of Antonio Olinto and Alceu Amoroso Lima on journalism as a literary genre and on the theories of Halbwachs, Pollak and Huyssen on memory.
