MANOEL BOMFIM E MANUEL DE OLIVEIRA LIMA: A AMÉRICA LATINA SOB DIFERENTES PARADIGMAS RACIALISTAS
O presente trabalho pretende mostrar
as historiografias de Manoel Bomfim e de
Manuel de Oliveira Lima sobre a América Latina
a partir dos paradigmas racialistas utilizados por
esses dois pensadores da Primeira República.
Interessa-se apresentar também suas
leituras acerca da Doutrina Monroe e do Pan-
Americanismo, porquanto entende-se que os
dois intelectuais ao pensarem a América Latina
tiveram como foco as relações desta parte do
continente americano com os Estados Unidos
da América. O autor deste trabalho preocupouse
também em mostrar as diferenças entre
Bomfim e Oliveira Lima no que concerne ao
papel da instrução popular no desenvolvimento
das nações da américa latina.

Abstract:
The present work intends to show
the historiographies of Manoel Bomfim and
Manuel de Oliveira Lima about Latin America
from the racialist paradigms used by these two
thinkers of the First Republic. It is intended here
also to present their readings about the Monroe
Doctrine and Pan Americanism, since it is
understood that the two intellectuals in thinking
about Latin America focused a lot on its relations
with the United States of America. The author of
this paper was also concerned with showing the
differences between Bomfim and Oliveira Lima
regarding the role of popular education in the
development of Latin American nations.
