• Abstract: Cannabidiol (CBD) is one of the main compounds found in the cannabis plant and has attracted significant attention for its potential therapeutic properties in different clinical conditions, especially for its anti-inflammatory, antioxidant, and endocannabinoid system modulating properties. In this context, its use has been investigated as a therapeutic alternative in metabolic, endocrine, and reproductive diseases, including Polyendocrine Metabolic Syndrome of the Ovaries (PMOS), formerly called Polycystic Ovary Syndrome (PCOS), and its related disorders, mainly in glucose-lipid metabolism disorders, as well as obesity and infertility. Considering the ubiquity of PCOS in the human population, the study of effective alternative pathways for the treatment of the disease is fundamental. Considering its high prevalence and the complexity of conventional treatment, the search for complementary and effective therapeutic approaches becomes essential. Thus, the present work aims to investigate the therapeutic potential of cannabidiol on the clinical manifestations associated with PMOS, addressing pathophysiological aspects, genetic, metabolic, endocrine, and environmental factors related to the syndrome. The literature analyzed suggests that CBD may act in the modulation of inflammatory and metabolic processes involved in the pathophysiology of PMOS, presenting itself as a promising target for future therapeutic applications. Therefore, the need to expand clinical studies on the use of cannabidiol is reinforced, aiming to consolidate its efficacy and safety in the management of the syndrome.
