• Abstract: The study of bloodstain profiles at crime scenes is extremely important in professional forensic practice, given the frequency of this evidence in criminal environments. Accurate identification of blood stains becomes essential for work performance in such scenarios. Therefore, the objective of this work was to describe a case of homicide that occurred in the north of the state of Minas Gerais, Brazil, and highlight the relevance of the technical and scientific analysis of hematoid stains at the scene of the events. In this crime, the evaluation of cast-off blood stain profiles in the criminal scenario was essential for establishing an expert inference regarding the violent dynamics and diagnosis of the legal cause of death. Forensic hematology has become a prominent area in the professional scope of criminalistics.
