Abstract: This article investigates the points sung in the rituals of Umbanda communities, focusing on female entities such as Pomba-Giras and Malandras. Using Discourse Analysis, the study analyzes songs that reveal gender violence suffered by these entities, such as femicide, sexual abuse and others. These points sung during the giras not only break the silence on such issues, but also provide a safe space for discussion and critical reflection. As well as denouncing violence, the rituals serve as a platform for challenging patriarchal norms and recognizing the multiple identities of marginalized women, highlighting the resistance and agency of these entities within the Umbanda religious context.
