Abstract: The tree cover present in the Tapajós campus of the Federal University of Western Pará generates numerous benefits for the academic community and the surrounding residents, ranging from environmental services to support for practical classes in certain subjects. This contribution to human quality of life and regional ecology deserves special attention for the conservation and preservation of these green areas within the urban environment, as well as the accurate identification of species to facilitate proper management. Therefore, efforts involving the morphology, taxonomic aspects, and ecology of species are essential for botanical identification. This current study aimed to conduct dendrological characterization of species belonging to the Mimosoideae subfamily, Fabaceae family, utilizing macromorphological characteristics. The grouping of species followed the APG III classification system, employing images and dendrological records for leaf and stem description. The survey conducted for the species present on the Tapajós campus allowed differentiation among them, providing macro-morphological dendrological characterization based on vegetative features with stem details, supplemented with images that enable easy species recognition in the field. It also serves as a basis for new research and activities related to the morphology of tree species, potentially aiding in forest inventories and floristic surveys.
