• Abstract:

  Child sexual abuse (CSA) is a public health problem. 1 on 5 European children suffers some type of sexual violence (2012). The purpose of this communication is was to determine the degree of knowledge of the UdL Medicine students on the subject. The "What do you know about Child Sexual Abuse?" Survey consists of 8 multiple choice questions based on the false myths of Lopez's study. The sample consists of 153 surveys (149 surveys were used, 103 women and 46 men). The most widespread false myth (90% of errors), is that the CSA is almost always accompanied by physical abuse.  60% of errors that there a lower percentage of abusive women than the real one (13%). 60% of correct answers, questions 5 and 8: CSA is given in all economic levels and abusers are mostly known to the victim. The rest of the myths, almost 80% of correct answers. The medical students of the UdL have partial knowledge about CSA. We must encourage training already before the fifth year.
