Abstract: This article analyzes economic base indicators in the regions of Brazil. The theory of the economic base explains the interregional relationships that encompass the flow of goods, people and services, in addition to evaluating the relevant impacts of these flows between the regions and the reference economy. As methodological procedures, regional analysis indicators (Location Quotient-CL and the Geographic Association Coefficient - CAG) and the estimation of the employment multiplier were used, indicating as results the most specialized branches of activity (called basic activities) in all the regions. Brazilian regions analyzed. The results of the CL and CAG obtained for 2018 reflect that no more than 3 Brazilian regions have the same motor activity. The Southeast region being the one with the most economic-based activities; 19 out of 25 and generates more jobs than the other Brazilian regions with 9 non-basic jobs for every basic job created. However, it is also evident when contrasting these results with those of 2012, that today all Brazilian regions have fewer specialized activities and also stimulate fewer job opportunities.
