Abstract: In Peru, since university law 30220, which places emphasis on the development of research, formative research carried out in undergraduate classrooms has gained special importance. However, this also meant the need for a large number of research teachers, who were not available, who could promote the development of research skills in students, but this still has serious limitations that are evident. In this context, the study arose with the objective of analyzing the difficulties presented by the formative research that has been developed in the Psychology Major of Peruvian universities, through the theses supported in the last 5 years. The content analysis method was used, 100 theses taken randomly from 10 universities whose repositories could be accessed were examined. A checklist and rubric developed for the research were used. The results revealed a series of difficulties in various aspects of the theses. The main conclusion reached was that the undergraduate theses that are developed in the psychology career of the universities of Peru have many errors that express the limitations in the research training of the students and a good part of the teachers who They are in charge of the corresponding subjects.
