O direito fundamental à liberdade de expressão e de informação é condição essencial para toda e qualquer democracia. Com o advento das novas tecnologias, aqui compreendidas as redes sociais e espaços virtuais de manifestação de pensamento. Enquanto o exercício da liberdade de expressão como direito fundamental, no âmbito da sociedade de risco, tal exercício deve se realizar de maneira responsável, pois, na medida em que emprega-se instrumentos como, por exemplo, os algoritmos e a própria vontade humana no sentido de difundir notícias, estas informações podem e de fato orientam as tomadas de decisões dos cidadãos, individual e coletivamente, De modo que, partindo da abordagem utilizando o método dedutivo e de revisão bibliográfica, sem intenção de esgotar a temática proposta, o objetivo do presente trabalho repousa no propósito de demonstrar a importância da responsabilidade do indivíduo no exercício dos direitos no contexto atual da sociedade, em especial da recepção e difusão de informações.
