Abstract: The objective was to analyze the level of occupational stress in Brazilian veterinarians who work in the private sector in hospitals and veterinary clinics through the application of the Work Stress Scale. This is a quantitative and descriptive research carried out through the application of an anonymous questionnaire, totaling 212 veterinary respondents throughout Brazil. Based on the results obtained, an analysis of the means and standard deviation was carried out using SPSS statistical software version 26 and Excel spreadsheets. 167 valid responses were considered, revealing that veterinarians have a medium to high level of stress, describing a critical situation in relation to the mental health of this class of workers. It is concluded that veterinarians are at high risk of developing stress and those most susceptible are recent graduates and those who work more than 40 hours a week.
