Abstract: Knowledge about risks in the sewing environment is extremely important for preserving the health of users who use it to develop practical teaching activities. The objective of this article is to survey risk situations present in the sewing studio of a fashion teaching institution located in Florianopolis-SC, with the aim of analyzing the main risk-generating factors in practical teaching activities. In the methodology, bibliographic research was carried out, documentary research with internal standards, field research for on-site observation of practical teaching activities in the studio with photographic records and interviews about the existence of risks with students and teachers. When analyzing the data, it can be seen that the danger exists due to the inherent characteristics of machines and equipment and that the risk-generating factors are intensified due to unsafe acts carried out by users. It is concluded that the identified situations bring real risks of accidents to users, requiring an increase in knowledge in identifying dangers and risks and developing their skills for the development of a safety culture.
