LET’S SING FOR A MULTICULTURAL EDUCATION
A música é um dos principais recursos utilizados em sala de aula na pré-escola e no ensino fundamental. A sua utilização permite o desenvolvimento de competências que não só incidem no campo da educação musical, mas também permitem promover a formação integral das crianças nas três grandes áreas: cognitiva, sensório-motora e afetivo-social. No âmbito afetivo e social, as canções permitirão a abordagem da educação multicultural e do ensino de valores em geral. A aceitação da diversidade, o respeito às diferentes culturas e etnias e o fortalecimento das relações sociais serão os temas que poderão estar relacionados com as músicas selecionadas para serem trabalhadas em sala de aula. Essas canções às vezes serão baseadas em histórias e outras obras literárias adequadas ao nível dos alunos a quem se dirigem. Assim, a combinação da história e da música terá um efeito multiplicador que ampliará o tipo e as características das atividades a serem realizadas. Desta forma, a canção proporcionará diferentes contextos de trabalho, com especial destaque para as comemorações, celebrações e festividades, através das quais os alunos poderão tomar conhecimento da realidade multicultural da sua sala de aula, escola e ambiente.

Abstract:
Songs are one of the main resources used in the classroom in preschool and primary education. Their use allows the development of skills that not only affect the musical education field, but also enable to promote the comprehensive training of children in three major areas: cognitive, sensory-motor, and affective-social. In the affective and social sphere, songs will allow the approach of the multicultural education and teaching values in general. The acceptance of diversity, the respect for different cultures and ethnicities and the strengthening of social relationships will be the subjects which can be connected with the songs selected to be worked on in the classroom. These songs will sometimes be based on stories and other literary works suitable for the level of the students to whom they are addressed. Thus, the combination of the story and the song will have a multiplier effect that will extend the type and characteristics of the activities to be carried out. In this way, the song will provide different working contexts, with special reference to commemorations, celebrations and festivities, through which the students will be able to become aware of the multicultural reality of their classroom, school and environment.
