LEADERSHIP AND MANAGEMENT CONTROL STYLE: THE ROLE OF CONTROL LEVERS IN THE AGRICULTURAL COOPERATIVES OF THE STATE OF PARANÁ.
O estudo teve como objetivo verificar a relação entre os estilos de liderança e a alavancas de controle de Simons (1995), no contexto das cooperativas agroindustriais do estado paranaense. Trata-se de um estudo com características descritiva, de levantamento e de cunho quantitativa. A amostra da pesquisa foi representada por 32 cooperativas, corresponde a 52% do total de cooperativas deste ramo de atividade no estado do Paraná. O instrumento de coleta de dados foi questionário enviado através de e-mail para os respondentes após um contato inicial com a Organização das Cooperativas do Paraná (OCEPAR) a qual disponibilizou uma listagem com informações dos associados. Os resultados apresentados no teste de correlação de Pearson demonstraram que os gestores enquadrados no estilo de liderança transformacional possuem significância a nível de 95% com os sistemas de crenças que representa um conjunto claro de definições que apontam os valores que a empresa pretende que sejam seguidos por seus colaboradores. Houve correlação estatisticamente significativa a nível de 95% com os sistemas de Crenças (0,378); Interativo (0,350); e de Diagnóstico (0,399). A pesquisa monstra correlação fraca (0,397) entre os sistemas de Crença e Interativo, correlação moderada (0,462) entre os sistemas de Crença e de Restrições e correlação forte (0,711) entre o sistema de Crenças e o de Diagnóstico. Ademais, observou-se correlação fraca entre: o sistema Interativo e o de Restrições (0,447); o sistema Interativo e o de Diagnóstico (0,356); O sistema de Restrições e o de Diagnóstico (0,522). Em conformidade com os resultados apurados parece existir uma influência positiva entre a inovação tecnológica e os sistemas de crenças, interativo e de restrições. Por fim, conclui-se que os sistemas de diagnóstico e sistemas interativos são os de maior utilização nas cooperativas agroindustriais paranaenses.

Abstract:
The study aimed to verify the relationship between leadership styles and the control levers of Simons (1995), in the context of agro-industrial cooperatives in the state of Paraná. This is a study with descriptive, survey and quantitative characteristics. The research sample was represented by 32 cooperatives, corresponding to 52% of the total cooperatives in this industry in the state of Paraná. The data collection instrument was a questionnaire sent via e-mail to the respondents after an initial contact with the Organization of Cooperatives of Paraná (OCEPAR) which provided a list with information from the members. The results presented in Pearson's correlation test showed that managers within the transformational leadership style have significance at 95% with belief systems that represent a clear set of definitions that point out the values that the company wants to be followed by its employees. There was a statistically significant correlation at the level of 95% with the Belief systems (0.378); Interactive (0.350); and Diagnostic (0.399). The research shows a weak correlation (0.397) between the Belief and Interactive systems, a moderate correlation (0.462) between the Belief and Restriction systems and a strong correlation (0.711) between the Belief and Diagnostic systems. Furthermore, a weak correlation was observed between: the Interactive system and the Restrictions system (0.447); the Interactive and Diagnostic systems (0.356); The Restrictions and Diagnostics system (0.522). In accordance with the results obtained, there seems to be a positive influence between technological innovation and the systems of beliefs, interactive and restrictions. Finally, it is concluded that diagnostic systems and interactive systems are the most used in Paraná's agro-industrial cooperatives.
