LANDSCAPE EDUCATION IN THE CONTEXT OF THE 8 Gs: A HOLISTIC VIEW OF TERRITORIAL HERITAGE
A educação para a paisagem atua em duas frentes distintas e complementares: 1) de um lado, compreender o valor ontológico do patrimônio paisagístico e do seu papel como construtor local de identidades e oportunidades; 2) de outro lado, fornecer aos sujeitos envolvidos, os instrumentos para lidar de forma sustentável com esta herança, resistindo aos processos de abandono, descaso e/ou extração predatória. Em qualquer uma das duas situações, nos valemos de um artefato conceitual construído como síntese de uma intervenção sustentável sobre a paisagem-território: a estratégia dos 8G’s . A estratégia dos 8 G’s representa nada mais do que um conjunto de ferramentas conceituais para explorar a profundidade do sistema paisagístico territorializado e, com isso, revelar o seu potencial para promover um modelo de desenvolvimento de longo prazo, compatível com a memória da Terra e das pessoas. Somente a partir desta visão holística e transdisciplinar, conseguiremos avançar para um ordenamento territorial plural e inclusivo, respeitador de nossas heranças.

Abstract:
Landscape education works on two distinct and complementary fronts: 1) on the one hand, understanding the ontological value of landscape heritage and its role as a local builder of identities and opportunities; 2) on the other hand, provide the subjects involved with the instruments to sustainably deal with this heritage, resisting the processes of abandonment, neglect and/or predatory extraction. In either of the two situations, we make use of a conceptual artifact constructed as a synthesis of a sustainable intervention on the landscape-territory: the 8G's strategy. The 8 G's strategy represents nothing more than a set of conceptual tools to explore the depth of the territorialized landscape system and, with that, reveal its potential to promote a long-term development model, compatible with the memory of the Earth and the people. Only from this holistic and transdisciplinary vision will we be able to advance towards a plural and inclusive territorial order, respectful of our heritages.
