LABOR CONDITIONS OF INFORMAL MINING AND ITS RELATIONSHIP WITH LATUBERCULOSIS AND SILICOSIS SUFFERED BY WORKERS IN THE MINING ZONE OF OTOCA - LUCANAS -AYACUCHO - 2014

El objetivo principal del presente trabajo de investigación fue determinar la relación que existe entre las condiciones laborales y los factores socio-demográficos con la tuberculosis y la silicosis en la población obrera de la zona minera de Otoca - Lucanas, Ayacucho - 2014. Método se realizó un estudio descriptivo transversal,” La muestra estuvo constituida por 47 obreros de la zona minera de Otoca - Lucanas quienes aceptaron voluntariamente participar en el estudio. Se evaluaron las variables como edad, sexo, estado civil, grado de instrucción, afiliación al seguro, equipo de protección personal y ambiente laboral, tuberculosis y silicosis. Se tuvo como resultados y discusión que la prevalencia de tuberculosis fue de 19,1%, esta cifra se aproxima a la hallada por Garrote y otros quienes encontraron una prevalencia de tuberculosis de 17,1% en población de trabajadores mineros colombianos; la silicosis fue de 14,9%, cifra mucho menor que la referida por Loayza y otros, quienes publicaron un estudio en el que hallaron un porcentaje de 43% de silicosis población de trabajadores mineros bolivianos. Se halló en cuanto a la edad y presencia de tuberculosis (0,046), no se halló asociación entre el sexo (0,482). Los factores socio-demográficos edad y estado civil presentan asociación con la presencia de silicosis en la población de estudio. El sexo, el grado de instrucción y las condiciones laborales no presentan asociación con la tuberculosis.

    The main objective of this research work was to determine the relationship between working conditions and socio-demographic factors with tuberculosis and silicosis in the working population of the mining area of ​​Otoca - Lucanas, Ayacucho - 2014. Method was carried out a descriptive cross-sectional study, ”The sample consisted of 47 workers from the Otoca-Lucanas mining area who voluntarily agreed to participate in the study. Variables such as age, sex, marital status, educational level, insurance affiliation, personal protective equipment and work environment, tuberculosis and silicosis were evaluated. The results and discussion were that the prevalence of tuberculosis was 19.1%, this figure is close to that found by Garrote and others who found a prevalence of tuberculosis of 17.1% in the population of Colombian mining workers; silicosis was 14.9%, a figure much lower than that reported by Loayza and others, who published a study in which they found a 43% percentage of silicosis in the population of Bolivian mining workers. It was found in terms of age and presence of tuberculosis (0.046), no association was found between sex (0.482). Socio-demographic factors, age and marital status are associated with the presence of silicosis in the study population. Sex, educational level, and working conditions are not associated with tuberculosis.
