LA RELEVANCIA DE LA MUJER ARTESANA EN LA ECONOMÍA FAMILIAR DE LA REGIÓN MIXTECA
En la Región Mixteca del estado de Oaxaca, las Unidades Económicas (UE) con mayor participación son las referentes al sector secundario. A pesar de la implementación de iniciativas públicas y privadas, Oaxaca es uno de los estados con mayor nivel de pobreza del país, por lo tanto, para reducir la pobreza independientemente de la oferta de servicios básicos, es necesario que los hogares cuenten con una alternativa productiva que les permita incrementar su ingreso promedio. En el presente documento se analiza la importancia de la industria manufacturera como alternativa para apoyar a las familias de la Región Mixteca. Se considera que parte de las tradiciones familiares en la región, se relacionan con la producción de productos de palma, lo cual ha permitido a las mujeres mixtecas participar en la transformación de la palma real para la producción de artesanías, actividad trascendental de la región. Para tal efecto se realiza una investigación descriptiva que permite analizar el comportamiento de las artesanas en el contexto productivo, teniendo como eje de estudio el nivel de participación de la mujer mixteca en la cadena de valor para la producción de artesanías de palma real en la Región Mixteca. Como parte de los resultados se enfatiza el rol de la mujer mixteca en la cadena de valor del producto artesanal hecho de palma real natural, así como los factores que fortalecen y amenazan a este sector productivo.

Abstract:
In the Mixtec region of the state of Oaxaca, the Economic Units (EU) with the highest participation are those referring to the secondary sector. Despite the implementation of public and private initiatives, Oaxaca remains one of the states with the highest level of poverty in the country; therefore to reduce poverty regardless of the supply of basic services, it is necessary to provide households with a productive alternative that allows them to increase their average income. This paper analyzes the importance of the manufacturing industry as an alternative to support families in the Mixtec region. Traditionally, many families in the region are involved in the production of palm products, which has allowed Mixtec women to participate in the transformation of the royal palm through the production of handicrafts, a transcendental activity in the region. For this purpose, a descriptive research is carried out to analyze the behavior of craftswomen in the productive context, having as an axis of study the level of participation of Mixtec women in the value chain for the production of royal palm handicrafts in the Mixtec Region. As part of the results, the role of Mixtec women in the value chain of the artisan product made from natural real palm is emphasized, as well as the factors that strengthen and threaten this productive sector.
