Abstract: The present research was carried out at the School of Upper Secondary Education, with the objective of analyzing the impact of the use of Artificial Intelligence tools on the development of autonomous learning, understood firstly as the set of useful tools for writing, solving problems, translating, searching for information, all available at a click, and autonomous learning as the student’s ability to direct, control, regulate, and evaluate their way of learning to learn. This is relevant given the growing prominence of artificial intelligence in educational environments, a key stage for developing self-regulation, autonomy, and critical thinking skills; the qualitative method was applied, involving a population of 237 second, third, and fourth semester students of the Technologist in Nursing Baccalaureate. The results show that they plan their time, select information, and participate with arguments, and demonstrate reflective and critical thinking, among other outcomes.
